Langley RCMP get their Grinch, return stolen gifts

Police rewrapped gifts stolen from Aldergrove family

The local police not only recovered stolen Christmas gifts but also made sure they were returned to an Aldergrove family in time for Christmas.

On Sunday, Dec. 22, the Langley RCMP began investigating a break and enter at a home in the 26500-block of 28A Avenue.

"It was reported that the suspects entered the residence in the early hours of the morning and stole several wrapped presents that were placed under the family’s Christmas tree," explained Cpl. Zynal Sharoom, Langley RCMP media spokesperson

They cracked the case.

“The story of the Grinch stealing Christmas had tragically become a reality for this family, therefore we employed several investigative techniques which enabled us to track the thieves down. The tireless efforts of our front-line officers resulted in the recovery of the stolen presents. We re-wrapped the presents and returned it to the family to restore the joy of the holiday season,” Sharoom said.
