Witness sought in case of missing Langley woman

Mounties want to speak to the driver of an SUV who may have seen Whitehouse

RCMP investigators are trying to find a driver who may have seen a missing Langley woman, who disappeared on Oct. 25.

Jane Whitehouse, 82, appears to have left Aldergrove sometime on Friday, Oct. 25, when a surveillance image showed her in the community, wearing a green jacket.

Her grey Dodge Caravan was found on Sunday, Oct. 27 in Agassiz, but Whitehouse was not with the vehicle.

Now police have found surveillance footage showing that on Oct. 25, at about 4:10 p.m., Whitehouse's Caravan was driving on Hicks Lake Road. A few seconds later, a white Mercedes SUV heading in the opposite direction passed the minivan.

“We are releasing the photograph of the white Mercedes SUV with the hopes of having the driver come forward and speak with our investigators,” said Cpl. Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP.

Police later released an image of Whitehouse's Dodge Caravan as well. The driver's face cannot be seen, but the driver is wearing a green jacket, and police believe she was driving, said Sharoom.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jane Whitehouse is urged to contact their local police, or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

RCMP investigators and Search and Rescue teams have been in the area where Whitehouse's vehicle was found.

The missing woman is described as Caucasian, 5'5" tall, weighing 140 pounds, with grey-blonde hair.
