Abbotsford driver airlifted to hospital after Langley freeway accident

Injuries said to be serious, police looking for witnesses

A 50-year-old Abbotsford resident was airlifted to hospital early Sunday morning following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 1 near the 264 Street off-ramp.

Port Mann RCMP Traffic Services responded at about 2:30 a.m. to reports that a grey Pontiac Montana mini van was in the ditch in the westbound lanes of the freeway. The driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators are trying to determine what happened prior to the collision and are asking for any witnesses to contact them at 604-526-9744.
