The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) is reporting a hike in vandalism to vehicles.

Const. Ian MacDonald said 27 vehicles were damaged at various locations across Abbotsford between Nov. 1 and 18.

He said this compares to 17 such incidents that took place in the first 18 days of October and 22 for the entire month.

MacDonald said the damage ranges from food thrown at or on vehicles to broken windows and slashed tires.

"There does not appear to be a pattern to the damage with regard to location, time of day or the nature of the mischief," he said.

MacDonald said citizens are remind to report suspicious activity by calling the APD at 604-859-5225, texting abbypd (222973) or calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
