Betty Gilbert Middle School lockdown has been lifted

RCMP called a code yellow lockdown in the noon-hour after a young man was seen walking onto school grounds with a baseball bat.

Betty Gilbert Middle School was locked down briefly at lunch time after a young offender was seen entering the school grounds with a baseball bat on Monday.

The lockdown was quickly lifted after police found the young man. They are currently speaking with him, said Langley RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Holly Marks.

Nobody was hurt in the incident.
