Four Aldergrove peewee and bantam teams participated in the Coleton Nelson Memorial Hockey Game

A large crowd of Aldergrove hockey fans turned out for the Coleton Nelson Memorial Hockey Game, March 9 at Aldergrove Arena.

Not only was the ice filled with four peewee and bantam teams, all of whom had played with Coleton over the years, but the stands were filled with family and friends. Two games were played that night, with the teams a mix and match from four AMHA teams. No score was kept.

Coleton is the 12-year-old who was killed on Feb. 18 when the car he was a passenger in was broadsided by a garbage rtuck at the corner of 256 Street and Robertson Crescent.

Coleton's father. Wayne dropped the puck for the game.

Another old friend of the AMHA, Matt Keith of the Abbotsford AHL Heat, was also there to support the grieving family and friends.

Donations were accepted for the Nelson family, and a trust account has been set up at the Aldergrove TD Bank Branch 9035, account number 6343224.
