Collision closes Fraser Highway Monday

A severe collision Monday night resulted in the closure of Fraser Highway in the 25600 block for approximately three hours. Witnesses told Langley RCMP that an eastbound Dodge Caravan drifted across the westbound lanes at high speed around 8 p.m. before going into a ditch on the north side of the road and striking a telephone pole. The 39-year-old Surrey resident driving the minivan suffered head injuries and was airlifted to hospital, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
