Abbotsford police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene of a single-car crash at about 12:30 a.m. Monday.

When they arrived at the scene – on 58 Avenue near Bradner Road – they found a van in the ditch with an unconscious man inside suffering from serious head injuries.

Initial reports indicate the vehicle left the road and ran into a tree. The driver was transported to Abbotsford International Airport, and then airlifted to Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster.
