Early-morning fire destroys barn on Bradner Road

Fire destroyed a barn on a home in the 4700 block of Bradner Road early this morning (Tuesday).

Crews from Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service were called just after 2 a.m. and arrived to find a barn fully engulfed in flames and on the verge of collapsing.

Firefighters quickly knocked down the flames, but the structure was destroyed.

Nobody was injured, and there were no animals in the shed, which had been used for storage.

Crews were able to save chickens in a coop next to the barn.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
