An RCMP officer was searching under tarps at a construction site near 240 Street and Fraser Highway Tuesday afternoon (July 22).

A three-hour police manhunt ended with the arrest of a suspect in a gang-related drug case in Langley near 240 Street and Fraser Highway Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect fled the scene after members of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) gang unit arrested another person at a house near 236 Street and 47 Avenue, close to Peterson Road Elementary.

The second suspect was captured following a three-hour search of the area by CFSEU officers, Langley RCMP, police helicopter Air One and a police dog team.

Officers could be seen going door-to-door and searching under tarpaulins at a nearby construction site while the helicopter circled overhead.

Both suspects, men in their 20s, are facing drug-related charges, CFSEU spokesperson Sgt. Lindsey Houghton said.

"It's an ongoing case, so we can't say much at this time," Houghton said.
