Langley information session on transportation referendum

Session planned on Wednesday, March 4 at Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Langley campus.

An information session on the upcoming Metro Vancouver transportation and transit plebiscite is planned for Wednesday, March 4 in Langley.

On March 16, Elections BC will start mailing out ballots for the plebiscite. It is asking voters to approve an increase in the provincial sales tax of 0.5 per cent, to be put towards a number of specific transit and transportation projects.

What does it mean in Langley if the majority of people vote ‘yes?’ What does it mean if people vote ‘no?’ What does it mean for individuals and families?

The session will provide details on the mayors’ plan for improving transportation in Langley, the South of Fraser region, and the rest of Metro Vancouver.

This will be one of the few opportunities to learn about the plebiscite in Langley, in a casual and accessible atmosphere.

The event takes place in the auditorium of Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Langley campus, at 20901 Langley Bypass.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with the presentation starting at 7 p.m. It will be followed by questions and answers until 9 p.m. Further information is available at www.southfraser.net.
