Amy was only 23 when she died in April after an illness.
Her boyfriend, Russ Moerman, kept her ashes in a heart-shaped pewter container, about four inches tall. The box that held the heart was on his bed when someone broke into his south Langley home sometime between noon and 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 22.
Amy used to wear a necklace that was a pendant with three small diamonds on the left hand corner of a star.
Amy’s ashes and the necklace are all Moerman cares about, and he would like them returned. Both were in his bedroom.
“They can be dropped off at the police station,” he pleaded with the thief.
“I don’t need to know anything. I just want them back.”
Moerman said almost all his electronic equipment has been stolen. Dozens of items of clothing, including jeans and hoodies, are also missing, along with backpacks, suitcases and novelty swords and knives.
“I don’t care about the material stuff, just getting the ashes and necklace back,” he said.
