A 28-year-old Langley man has pleaded guilty to a two-month bank robbing spree that took him across three provinces, including the Jan. 21, 2015 hold up at an Aldergrove TD Canada Trust.
Shaun Cornish entered the guilty plea in Kamloops Supreme Court on Nov. 18. He is scheduled to make his next court appearance in January 2017. He has been in custody since his arrest on Jan. 30, 2015 when police caught up with him at a motel in Grand Prairie, Alta.
Grande Prairie is located about 130 kilometres southeast of Dawson Creek, B.C. where another bank was robbed on Jan. 28 of last year.
He was charged in connection with nine armed robberies of banks in B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan in December 2014 and January 2015. Multiple security camera images from different financial institutions that were robbed show the same suspect wearing a toque, sunglasses and black gloves.
Cornish doesn't appear to have a criminal history in B.C., except for driving with a suspended licence in 2008.
