Langley RCMP is investigating a bank robbery that happened Thursday afternoon in Aldergrove, at the CIBC branch on 272 Street, just north of Fraser Highway.

Cpl. Holly Largy said her detachment received a call at approximately 3:45 p.m. informing them a man in a gas mask had demanded money and fled on foot with "some amount of cash." The amount has not been disclosed.

Witnesses did not report seeing a weapon but he may have claimed to have a concealed weapon, said Largy.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early 20s, 6"0 tall and 200 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a gas mask, sunglasses, a black hoodie and grey sweatpants.

Police are investigating the incident and ask the public to call them with any information.
