Body found in Langley field

Police investigating after body discovered by crews battling grass fire

This morning around 2 a.m., the Langley RCMP was called to a field adjacent the 6000 block of Glover Road by Langley Fire Department. In the process of extinguishing a grass fire, firefighters discovered an obviously deceased person.

Langley RCMP Serious Crime has assumed conduct of the investigation.

The area surrounding the scene will be cordoned off for a significant period of time.

Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase, therefore no further information will be provided at this time.

There is limited information as to the cause of the fire and the identity of the deceased. Police will continue their investigation and engage the appropriate partners to assist.
