Public engagement meeting set for Tuesday at LEC

Township of Langley invites residents to offer feedback on draft Public Engagement Charter

If you’re a resident of the Township of Langley, it is your turn to have your say on how public engagement will be carried out in the municipality.

On Tuesday, June 7, the Township will host an open house on the draft Public Engagement Charter for Planning and Development at the Langley Events Centre. The session will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The document is a high-level policy that will shape how the Township engages with residents in planning and development on an on-going basis.

According to the Township, the charter outlines the municipality’s aspirations to promote civic pride as the community grows and changes, and initiate deeper dialogue between the community, council and staff.

The document is the main component of the Public Engagement Strategy, which was put forward by the Mayor’s Standing Committee on Public Engagement, and adopted by council in March.

Those who cannot attend the open house can learn more about the proposed charter and offer their input online at tol.ca/engagetol.
