A rider was taken to hospital by ambulance after suffering a fall at Campbell Valley Park on 208 Street off 16 Avenue this (Saturday) morning around 9 a.m.

Initial reports suggested a horse had fallen on the rider during a training session, but an eyewitness disputed that, saying the rider had fallen off the horse.

The injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Fire and ambulance crews were asked to respond with sirens off to avoid startling the other horses.
