An alleged former Red Scorpions gang member was sentenced Wednesday to six and a half years in prison following a police raid on his Aldergrove home in November 2009.
Jason William Brown, 36, was given double credit for the time he has already served, leaving him to spend another 34 months in jail.
Brown was sentenced in B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster, after previously pleading guilty to possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited firearm with a weapon.
Abbotsford Police, Langley RCMP, the Integrated Gang Task Force and the Municipal Integrated Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant on Nov. 12, 2009 at the home Brown and his girlfriend shared in the 26900 block of 26A Avenue in Aldergrove.
The two were not home at the time, and police seized two kilograms of cocaine, one kilogram of meth, a 9-mm handgun, a loaded magazine, two bulletproof vests, Red Scorpions clothing and about $12,000 cash.
Brown and his girlfriend were arrested several days later and were both charged with a series of offences. Some were stayed against Brown, and all were dropped against his girlfriend.
Brown was also among 18 members and associates of the Hells Angels who were arrested in 2005 in Vancouver and Kelowna. The two-year investigation was dubbed Project E-Pandora.
That project led to Brown being charged with two counts of conspiracy to produce/traffic meth and two counts of commission of an offence in association with a criminal organization.
