Sliding into a collision in Langley

It was a cold morning and the road was slippery when the driver of a small car hit the brakes at a stop sign near the intersection of 248 Street and Robertson Crescent in Langley.

Instead of stopping, the car skidded through the stop and collided with a SUV, sending the larger vehicle into a ditch where it flipped over and came to a rest wheels-up.

The driver of the truck, a a 33-year-old Langley woman, suffered what police described as non-life-threatening injuries and was evacuated by helicopter for medical attention.

The driver of the car, a 26-year-old Langley woman, was issued a ticket for driving too fast for the road conditions.

One officer at the scene reported slick ice on the road at the time of the accident

It happened around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday Jan. 9.
