Dr. Mark Husbands has been selected as TWU’s fifth president.

Trinity Western University is getting a new president next Canada Day.

Dr. Mark Husbands has been selected as the University’s fifth present, and will succeed current President Bob Kuhn on July 1st, 2019.

Husbands is transferring from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, where he serves as Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Prior to joining Northwestern, Husbands was the Leonard and Marjorie Maas Chair of Reformed Theology and Director of the Emmaus Scholars Program at Hope College in Holland, Michigan.

“With the noble goal of being a Christian university committed to developing godly Christian leaders to serve God and people in the various marketplaces of life, Trinity Western University has earned a stellar reputation for pursuing excellence in Christian higher education,” Husbands said of the new position.

Husbands added he is “eager to advance the kingdom of God by educating learners to seek, know and follow Christ in the totality of their lives.”

Following his presidency, current president Bob Kuhn plans to return to Kuhn LLP to practice law part-time, as well as continue with writing and speaking engagements and special projects.

“I have been impressed by the thorough work undertaken by the Search Committee to arrive at the choice of the person to serve as the next President of Trinity Western University,” said Kuhn. “I am confident Dr. Husbands will prove to be an exceptional leader to serve our beloved University in this exciting time of growth.”

Trinity Western University was founded in 1962, and is a private Christian post-secondary school in Langley.
