Two suspects 'caught in the act' at businesses

Alarm company and security guard report break-ins in progress.

Two men were ‘caught in the act’ of breaking into two separate Langley businesses over the last week.

On Friday, March 20, around 4 a.m., police received a call from an alarm company which had live footage of a man inside the Bottle Depot in the 27500 block of Fraser Highway in Aldergrove. The male was observed rummaging through containers.

Police arrived very quickly and found him still inside the compound. The 30-year-old Langley man was arrested and brought back to the detachment to appear in court the following day.

Michael Allen Wiens has now been charged with break-and-enter and possession of break-and- enter tools.

He is still in custody and appears again in court on Tuesday (today)

On Monday (March 23), between midnight and 1 a.m., on-scene security reported a male inside a secured compound of a business in the 20200 block of 102B Avenue.

Officers attended and called for the assistance of the police dog service.  A track was established and a man believed to be responsible for the break-in was arrested within two blocks of the compound.

A 21-year-old Langley man was taken into custody and released to appear in Surrey Provincial Court in June.
