As stated in the initial media release, the driver of the red truck is a witness to this incident and not involved in the male’s death.”

Chilliwack RCMP are looking for the driver of a red truck who may have some information on a man’s death.

The victim, who was known to police, was found dead in a drainage ditch on Chilliwack Central Road between Prest Road and Broadway Street on the morning of Saturday, Feb. 17.

A red truck was seen driving through the area along Chilliwack Central Road the day before, between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Feb. 16, and now police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver.

“We are treating the driver as a witness at this time and are urging them or the owner of the vehicle to come forward to assist us in advancing the investigation,” said Cpl. Carmen Kiener with the Chilliwack RCMP. “We are also seeking witnesses who may have seen the male walking along Chilliwack Central Road between Broadway Street and Prest Road during that time frame. The deceased male was wearing a black jacket, grey pants, and carrying a beige duffle bag.”
