The Abbotsford Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect in a recent identity-theft crime.
Meanwhile, a second suspected incident has been found to have been a mistake on the part of a bank worker.
The first incident took place Monday, March 2 at 3 p.m. at the TD Canada Trust bank in the 32000 block of South Fraser Way.
According to police, a woman presented false identification to the teller and made a cash withdrawal from the victim's account.
Police have released a security video image with hopes of identifying the woman.
A second incident previously reported to have occurred on March 13 was actually a case of human error on the part of a bank teller, according to a TD Canada Trust spokesperson.
APD Const. Ian MacDonald confirmed the error, saying police received numerous responses from people identifying the woman in the photo that was released yesterday along with the photo of the first suspect.
Among the people contacting police were family members, who were adamant that inclusion of the woman was a mistake. Police then contacted TD Canada Trust security, who confirmed the mistake, saying the incident on March 13 had been caused by an employee's "keying error."
"The APD have apologized to the family for our role in the situation," MacDonald said.
