One person has been airlifted to hospital after a serious head-on collision on 240 Street just south of Robertson Crescent in Langley.

There were two people involved in the accident, which was reported shortly after noon today (July 21) — one in each vehicle — and only one person was injured, Langley RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Holly Largy told the Times.

A man in his 60s was airlifted to hospital with multiple injuries and is in “quite serious condition,” Largy said.

The other driver, a 75-year-old man from Langley, was taken to Langley Memorial Hospital as a precaution with minor injuries.

Roads are expected to be closed for another three to four hours, and motorists are asked to consider alternate routes for travel.

The cause of the accident is being investigated by Langley RCMP and ICARS (Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service).
