Fed up with the tarnished image of their Springfield Village neighbourhood

Fed up with the tarnished image of their Springfield Village neighbourhood, a large group of the subdivision’s residents have banded together to do something positive and make a difference in their community.

Calling themselves the Springfield Village People, they have garnered the support of Langley Township and businesses such as Aldergrove Safeway to stage community events such as the community street clean-up under the Township’s Adopt-a-Street program.

Their “Green Day” will be held this Saturday, March 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In conjunction with this event they are hosting a barbecue fund-raiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, in honour of Springfield resident Abbey Reeves, age 7 (see also story, "Abbey Reeves helping Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation").

They invite everyone to come out and support the causes; for more information see “Cleaning up Springfield” under Facebook or call 604-856-1866.
