A Langley man considered violent, armed and very dangerous has been arrested.
Shawn George James McWilliams was arrested on Tuesday evening after police received a CrimeStoppers tip.
McWilliams was apprehended without incident in the 1800 block of Commercial Drive in Vancouver.
He was scheduled to appear in Provincial court in Surrey on Wednesday morning.
Police had issued an alert for McWilliams, whom they called "a dangerous, high risk domestic violence offender."
There were several warrants for his arrest.
McWilliams has an extensive criminal history for a number of offenses that date to 1989. He was wanted on 19 counts of breaching court ordered conditions, as well as two counts of assault with a weapon, six counts of assault, two counts of pointing a firearm, forcible confinement, uttering threats, anal intercourse, sexual assault, sexual assault with a weapon, and kidnapping.
