Trustee Wendy Johnson has been re-elected as chair of the Langley Board of Education.

The decision was made at the regular board meeting on June 18, where Johnson was nominated for the position by Trustee Cecilia Reekie. Johnson won the title by acclamation.

According to board policy, the position of board chair and vice-board chair are normally elected at the inaugural meeting, and then must be reelected again half way through the three-year term (after 19 months).

Trustee Rob McFarlane was elected as vice-chairperson. He was nominated by Trustee Candy Ashdown and also won by acclamation.

Both Johnson and McFarlane will serve in these positions until the next board election in a year and a half.
