It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Abraham Koole on December 10, 2020, at the age of 89.
Predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Koole (Elenbaas), he is survived by his wife, Delores Koole (Houweling), his children: Paul (Leslie) Koole, Barbara (Cliff ) Lieuwen, Peter (Marguerite) Koole, and Jennifer (Dave) Gentile; 10 grandchildren: Adrienne (Darrell), Andrew (Erica), Nicolas (Heather), Selena, Rachel (Josh), Beverly, Joshua, Michael, Sophia, and Ava; and three great- grandchildren: Theo, Jude, and Davey; along with many in-laws, nephews, nieces, and friends.
Abraham Poulus Koole was born in Nieuwerkerk aan den Ijssel of the Netherlands, on July 30, 1931. In 1951, he followed two of his siblings to Canada. In 1955, he bought a parcel of land in Langley, where he would start his own greenhouse business and live out the remainder of his life.
In 1961, he met Elizabeth Elenbaas at a birthday party for a mutual friend. They fell in love and were married by the year's end. Their first child, Paul, was born the next year, followed by Barb, Pete, and Jenn.
In 1998, Elizabeth passed away tragically, leaving Bram on his own. But happiness soon returned when, at the suggestion of a long-time friend, Bram found love again with Delores Houweling. Delores became part of the family, and they had 20 happy years of marriage together.
Throughout the joys and sorrows of his life, Bram relied on his faith in God, always believing that the Lord would provide. Dad always knew where he stood and didn't shy away from sharing his convictions with those who knew him. Because of this, we are all comforted to know that he is now in Glory, walking beside his Saviour.
