GACHA, Andrew, born Dec 14, 1905 in Slovakia gladly went home to be with the Lord on Dec 26, 2005. Andy had just celebrated his 100th birthday with family and friends when a bout of pneumonia landed him in hospital where he passed away. He will be sadly missed but always remembered by his wife Herta, daughter and son-in-law Karen and Dave McCreadie, grandchildren Mark (&Amy) and Krista McCreadie, foster son and daughter-in-law Paul and Kim Holmgren as well his two nieces in Alberta, Anne (Jack) Gukert and Helen (Roy) Goebel.
Andy came to Alberta in 1929 and then made his way out west eventually settling on a dairy farm in Langley in 1939. He farmed there until 1963 when he moved his family to the hobby farm in Aldergrove where he had still resided. Andy led a full and active life. He enjoyed working outside and a good conversation in any of several languages. Andy was a man of good character and great faith. Funeral service and celebration of his life was held at the Langley Gospel Hall on Dec 29, 2005. The family wishes to thank Dr. Brendan Martin for his care and compassion.
