December 23, 1960 - April 26, 2021
We are heartbroken to announce that David Samuel McMann, 60, of Langley, BC, slipped quietly through the veil and stepped into his true home on April 26, 2021 after a valiant battle with cancer.
Born December 23, 1960, Dave grew up in Esperanza, Tahsis and Gold River on Vancouver Island. He worked many years at the Gold River pulp mill and married his beloved, Gaye Brandenstein, in Seattle on May 16,1992.
Their son, Peter, arrived in September 1995 and the family relocated to Langley in 1999 when Dave accepted a position at Lafarge Cement. He retired from Lafarge in 2018 then worked for Cintas until December 2020.
Dave's life was a testimony to the power of Christ to make an ordinary man unforgettable to everyone who knew him. What he wanted most in life was that in everything he would bring glory to God, and he will be remembered for his faith, humour, compassion, kindness, wisdom and humility.
Dave is survived by Gaye, his cherished wife of almost 29 years, his treasured son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Hannah, siblings Yvonne (Chris), Tim (Judy), Marie (Dave), Keith (Michele), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Predeceased by Daniel, his twin brother, at childbirth, and his parents, Elvin and Helena McMann.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
Act justly, love mercy, walk humbly with your God.
