Celebration of Life ~
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Jerry Billett, 82, from Langley, B.C. on April 15, 2022.
Jerry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his one and only love, wife Shirley of 60 years. He is also survived by his daughter Valerie Nelson and daughter Glenda (Chuck) Peeling, his grandchildren Dallas (Mason) Peeling, Blake (Lana) Peeling, Stephanie Peeling, Bradley Nelson, Tyler Nelson, Daniel (Alyssa) Billett, Joshua (Kaitlyn) Billett and Rachel
Billett, brother Kenny Billett, brother-in-law Ellwood (Jean) Fleming and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jerry was born in Sovereign, Saskatchewan to Herb & Elsie Billett. He married Shirley Fleming on June 9, 1962 and they settled on the family farm at Plato with Herb & Elsie. In 1974 Jerry, Shirley & family moved to their own farm raising cattle, chicken & grain farming. Jerry enjoyed curling, hunting, fishing and many camping trips with relatives and family. He was a member of the Fish & Game Club and a RM Councillor.
In 1987 Jerry & Shirley moved to B.C. to start a paper shredding and recycling business. Jerry enjoyed boating on the ocean and crabbing. After retirement, Jerry volunteered on various local social committees and at curling events travelling to Las Vegas, California and holidaying in Mesa, AZ. Jerry spent many hours supporting his grandchildren in various school and sporting activities. Gardening and woodworking were his favourite activities at home as well as happy hour with his friends and family.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents Herb & Elsie, son Lesley, sister and brother-in-law Marjorie & Patrick McAllister, sister Marilyn Fleming, sister- in-law Wendy Billett.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Fernridge Mobile Park clubhouse Sunday May 1st at 2pm. A light reception will follow the service.
