With heavy hearts, our family announces the peaceful passing of Howard Engebretson on March 13, 2025, in Abbotsford, at 86 years old and with family by his side.
Born in Fairview, Alberta, Howard's life was rooted in farming. Starting with his first mink at age 11, he went on to build a successful mink ranch in Bradner with his wife Gladys.
Howard was also a licensed pilot and longtime supporter of the Abbotsford International Airshow. He loved travel and connecting with people - he left a lasting impression on all who met him.
After retiring in 1998, Howard remained involved in his family's farming legacy. In 2004, he married Shirley Coutts, and they enjoyed years of travel together.
He is survived by his sister Betty, children Lyall (Darcie), Terry (Wendy), and Turina (Peter), 8 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
