June 19, 1936 - September 12, 2021
In Loving Memory ~ Ida Rose Iberg was born in Manitoba on June 19, 1936. Her family moved to Langley in September of 1936.
Ida attended school in the Langley District. Her education was very important to her. She worked hard and graduated valedictorian of her class. She carried this high standard with her in her teaching career. She expected the best from her students.
Her first teaching position was at North Otter School where she taught for 2 years. From there she moved to a First Nations village in Alberta where she remained for several years. From there she accepted a position in Northern B.C. then on to the interior and finally Vancouver Island.
Ida moved back to Langley in 1971, at which time she opened her own private kindergarten and tutored for several years.
Ida passed away at the Maple Hills LTC Facility on September 12, 2021. She is survived by her brother Charlie Iberg and sister Freda Smith.
Special thanks to the staff at the Maple Hills Facility; Ron and Brenda Hobbs for all your help; and Gary and Teppy Smith for all your care of her pets.
