In loving memory ~
Lou Hamlin was born and raised in Truro, Nova Scotia. Her parents died by the time she was nine years old and Lou, her sister Ruth and brother Wally were raised by their Aunt Dewey. At the age of nineteen she married Bud Hamlin who was on his way to Europe to join the war. When Bud returned to Canada at the end of WWII they moved to British Columbia and had four children Jack, Dawn, Kathy and Jim.
Lou lived a long life and at 100 years old her birthday was celebrated with the whole family. She said after the party " It was so wonderful to have all the kids and grandkids together" It was always about the kids for her.
Lou was always ready to entertain company and family. She would heat the water for tea, make you something to eat, and sit down to visit and chat. She loved her family and they were her priority at all times.
Lou was Grandma to Bridget, Patrick & Christy, Sarah & Bill, Mel & Justin, Eric & Melanie, Britney and Ryan, and a Great Grandma to Nick, Chloe, Colin, Erica, Dylan, Neomie and Zoey. They received many gifts from their Grandma including the gift of laughter, her love of sweets and the gift of the gab. Lou also had a special place in her heart for spouses Greg, Gisele and Jodi who knew her as a friend and second Mom.
At the end of her life she waited until she knew all her children were home safe and sound and then "went to her reward". She is now with Bud and Dawn who were waiting for her.
We love you and will miss you forever.
