BLAMIRE, Norman. 1930-2007
Services have been held for Norman Blamire who died May 7, 2007 at the age of 77. He was born in England in the Lake District and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1948, settling in Alberta where he attended the University of Alberta, graduating with a BSc degree in 1954. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force where he served as a navigator in postings across Canada until his retirement as a captain in 1975. He married Cally Pearson in 1956. After retirement from the Air Force, he settled in Aldergrove, BC, where he had a second career with the Correctional Service of Canada until 1995. He is survived by his wife; brother David; daughters Valerie Hutton of Lumby, BC, and Andrea Duval of Abbotsford, BC; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
