Ashton, Rosswell Bertrand
August 25, 1912 - March 3, 2007
Passed away on Saturday, March 3rd at home. Predeceased by his wife (Winnifred Mary, July 2003) of 52 years. Ross is survived by his children, Merrily, Carol-Lynn, Glen, Raymond, Bonnie and Valerie, 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Born in Carievale, Saskatchewan, moved to New Westminster in 1928, studied at UBC and taught in several small schools in the interior before returning to teach in Vancouver. Upon the start of the war, he enlisted and served overseas. Upon returning to Canada he worked at the Aldergrove Customs and Immigration until retirement in 1977. Ross and Winnie were married on Dec. 6, 1950 and started a family. They enjoyed many adventurous camping trips, which included singing, swimming and ice cream. A service to be held at St. Dunstan Anglican Church, 3025 - 264th St. on Friday, March 9 at 2 p.m.
