A challenge

I challenge each and every one of Langley Township councillors to respond to me and all of your constituents and answer my question.

Editor:

I challenge each and every one of Langley Township councillors to respond to me and all of your constituents and answer the following questions.

1: Why should any of you recieve a raise above the rate of inflation, when you all campaigned on that as the maximum increase in municipal expenses?

2: Why isn't the issue of council compensation decided 60 days before election day?

3: Do any of you agree with Coun. Steve Ferguson's assertion that revisiting your immoral and unconscionable wage increase should not be reviewed and reduced? That is the same Mr. Ferguson who claimed that cereal crops could be planted on blacktop in his mystical defence of the now defeated S-curve through farm land as part of the continuing Mufford overpass fiasco.

4: Given the provincial government mandate and the current reality that those of us in the real world are facing constant decrease in take home pay, why should you benefit from misuse of the trust placed in you that you should be measured, reasonable and honest in your descisions and actions? At this time none of those adjectives accurately describe you receiving the raises that are proposed.

I would tender the opinion that if any of you value your image and public profile from an honesty and morality standpoint, you will clearly answer these questions for all of Township constituents to see.
