Hoping for a fine balance on council

Let us hope there will be some commonsense cohesion on council for the good of the Township of Langley constituents. This council has many longstanding incumbents whose DNA is all over what we see.

Stewardship must include all Township constituents and should preserve some balance and equality for assessments made to Township coffers.

But will that be a reality, judging by what has occurred in the past? Will some changes be made to even out the landscape? That remains to be seen.

Township hall bureaucrats are well entrenched and have influence, which will create a challenge for mayor-elect Jack Froese somewhere down the line. His ability to finesse but necessarily appease all the time will be the deciding factor. The balancing act on a high wire.

As a former law enforcement officer that experience will serve him well to manage events that will surely arise in the agenda. There are many players involved and some always want more than others. Precisely where the glue comes apart.

It is about fairness and balance to all.
