Support this worthy tribute to our veterans

Bert Chen, Langley, says to honour our veterans with new memorial

Editor:

Recently Township Council and those present were tremendously privileged to hear from Michael and Elizabeth Pratt, two outstanding Langley youth who are working hard to establish the only memorial west of Ontario to the 157 Canadian soldiers who perished during our mission in Afghanistan.

Their project, known as Langley Youth for the Fallen is not only a beacon of promise toward those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in protection and devotion to peace, but a way to show Langley’s true spirit as a community – one that profoundly believes in honouring our commitments and never forgetting such sacrifices – to the rest of our country and the world.

Knowing the Pratts, I am grateful for their dedication and initiative not only for Langley, but for all of Canada and the world, and I invite all members of our community to support their effort. I for one know that I certainly will.

Bert Chen, Langley
