Adult skaters shine

Aldergrove skaters gave a spectacular showing this past weekend at the 2011 Western Regional Adult Competition, held in Abbotsford.The Adult III Ice Silhouette team gave another great performance, bringing their “Fighting Breast Cancer” theme to life, and receiving a Gold medal.Several of the synchro team members then competed in the “Team 4” event. Three teams of four skated various skating skills competing in the bronze, gold and masters events and were recognized with two gold and a silver medal.Also skating their freeskate and interpretive programs were Roberta Sawatzky, Corine Stewart and Susan Edwards. Roberta came home with a gold for her freeskate program and a silver in her interpretative program, skated to the song Wind beneath my Wings. Corine Stewart had a great skate to receive a silver medal and Susan Edwards skated a riveting program to These Boots are made for Walking and got the bronze medal.Congratulations to all the adult skaters.
