Johnson, Lund earn weekly honours

Langley duo recognized for outstanding offensive efforts

A pair of local athletes have earned weekly recognition in their respective sports.

Langley Rams running back Nathan Lund was named the BC Football Conference offensive player of the week while Trinity Western Spartans forward Leighton Johnson was the Canada West male first star of the week.

Lund had a combined 191 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns in his team’s 31-19 victory over Kamloops.

Johnson scored a hat trick and set up one goal in the Spartans men’s soccer team’s season-opening 5-1 win over the UVic Vikes.
