The Aldergrove Kodiaks played one of their best games this season against the North Delta Devils at home Jan. 12 and appeared to be turning around their recent losing streak.

Brendan Lamont in particular played extremely well, notching two scores in the first frame while the Devils drew naught. Lamont's assists were from Mitchell Guiel and Ryan Procyshyn at 10:00 and Tyson Solotki and Matt Garb at 13:30.

Cody Hoy put the Kodiaks up 3-0 in the second at 12:54, assisted by Guiel and Aaron Reimersma.

It was not to be, however, as the Devils responded with one late in the second and two more in the third.

And a couple of unfortunate penalties against the Kodiaks late in the third gave the Devils the power play man-advantage in overtime, resulting in a 4-3 win for the visitors just 53 seconds into OT.

Kodiaks keeper Mark Mennicucci performed well in turning aside all but four of the Devils' 44 shots. The Kodiaks had 30 shots on the Devils' net.

Lamont earned the game's third star.
