Langley’s Sommerville helps sack Longhorns

Langley defence leads the way in shut-out victory over North Delta

Kai Sommerville made himself at home in the North Delta Longhorns backfield.

Sommerville had four of his team’s six quarterback sacks as the Langley Stampeders hammered North Delta 42-0 in midget football at McLeod Athletic Park on Sunday.

Harry Sommerville and Stryker Roloff had the other sacks for Langley.

Colten Dejong led the team with five sole tackles while Kai Sommerville and Roloff had four apiece and Tyler Kermode and Joe Nickel each had three.

Offensively, quarterback Shawn Lal threw for 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns, both to Sheldon Gangloff, and also rushed for a score.

And Azuka Okoli (two touchdowns) and Ogulcan Dumral (one touchdown) had the other scores.

Joshua Wilson and Connor Johnston had 20 yards rushing apiece as the Stamps ground out 285 yards rushing.
