The Langley Rivermen worked overtime this weekend, trading victories with the Wenatchee Wild at the George Preston Recreation Centre.

The Wild were in town for a pair of preseason contests, both of which went to overtime.

Langley won the opener 3-2 while Wenatchee prevailed 5-4.

Veteran forward Darnell Dyck scored twice, including the overtime winner during three-on-three hockey, while Justin Cintas had the other Langley score.

Jim Kruger made 41 saves in the win.

In game two, the Rivermen rallied from a 2-0 deficit to take a 3-2 lead thanks to goals from Raymond Bell, Austin Plevy and Mike Tebbutt.

Wenatchee would reclaim the lead and were ahead until the end of regulation when Dyck forced overtime as time wound down.

The Wild would score the winner against Langley's Michael James Barr.

The Rivermen close the preseason this weekend with a game Friday against the Surrey Eagles at the South Surrey Arena and then Saturday in Burnaby against Simon Fraser University.

The BCHL regular season begins Sept. 23 with the Rivermen's home opener on Saturday, Sept.24 at the Langley Events Centre against the Surrey Eagles.
