Armed with cowbells and snacks, the roller derby fans made enough noise to keep the energy high as the Reign Valley Vixens, decked out in their new uniforms, took on the West Kootenay Kannibelles on Saturday night.
The teams were very well-matched, but the Kannibelles pulled ahead and finished the night with 141 points to the Vixen's 88. Incredible sportsmanship turned up in wide smiles, good-natured teasing and an impromptu dance on the track.
The Vixens have one more home bout this season against the Kelowna Peach Tarts, an event called Wheels of Justice on July 23 at the MSA Arena. For information see the website: rvvrd.com
