Out of an overall field of nearly 800 competitors, Langley's Karen Thibodeau cracked the top 20 and finished as the top female in the field at Sunday's Persona Half Ironman Triathlon in Oliver.
She finished the 2-km swim, 93-km bike ride and 21.1-km run in four hours, 45 minutes and 53 seconds, which was good for 19th place overall.
Altogether, 38 Langley, Aldergrove and Fort Langley residents took part in the grueling race.
