Toth's team, the Notre Dame Hounds, won the gold in the Esso Cup in St. Albert, Alberta and now are the 2011 National Champions.

The Notre Dame Hounds (West) never lost heart.

From settling for silver in 2010 to defeating the Edmonton Thunder (Pacific) 5-2 to for the gold medal in 2011, there’s no doubt the Hounds were determined to make their Esso Cup dreams come true.

The Hounds opened the scoring in the first period and led throughout the next two periods. They also outshot the Thunder 35-24.

This past month Kirsten flew home to attend the B.C. Provincial Cup in Salmon Arm. She was chosen once again for Team B.C. and will go to the Nationals, November 2-6 in Saguenay, Quebec.

This is a huge accomplishment for a young woman who graduated from Aldergrove Minor Hockey.
