For Mother’s Day the Langley Blaze wore pink shirts and treated their moms to a display of baseball prowess, defeating the visiting Parksville Royals in a doubleheader at McLeod park.

Blaze began holding a special Mother;s Day game since 2013, the first team in the league to do it, but since then a few others in the British Columbia Premier Baseball League (BCPBL) have followed suit.

Game one against Parksville was about as lopsided as it gets, with the score reaching 10-0 before the mercy rule was invoked.
Blaze starting pitcher Theo Millas struck out four while giving up three hits.
Offensively, Haiden Letzing who was two for two and Holden Cumiskey went two fofr three.
Game two was closer, but not exactly a nail-biter, with the Blaze winning 6-3.
Blaze starter Ryan Scott left the game in the second inning to be replaced by Loreto Siniscalchi.
In the third inning, Sean Sasaki came on to complete the game and pick up the win. He had three strikeouts.
Offensively, the Blaze were led by Russell Young who was two for two. Justin Thorsteinson, Brandon Nicoll, Daniel Martin all went two for three.
Daniel Martin had a triple and Justin Thorsteinson had a double.

The wins boosted the team to 10 wins and four losses so far this season.
Blaze are currently third in the BCPBL standing behind second place Mid Island Pirates and first place Coquitlam Reds.
