Camas Day kicks off this weekend

Beacon Hill Park and the Victoria Natural History Society's annual Camas Day kicks off for the 24th year this weekend.

On Saturday, May 2, explore Beacon Hill Park and learn how First Nations people lived in harmony with nature in this unique habitat.

Thomas Munson, natural areas technologist with the City of Victoria, will speak about a project to do with endangered species preservation and restoration of rare plants in the park.

Rick Page and Kristi Kilpatrick with the Urban Wildlife Stewardship Society will guide a walk and speak about the urban deer population.
