Chamber of Commerce plans fully escorted trips to China

The Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce has organized trips to China in 2015.



Local travellers will once again have the opportunity to experience China.

After a successful trip earlier this year, the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce has teamed up with the Chilliwack Chamber and the Mission Regional Chamber to offer two different trips that will show travellers the beauty, culture and traditions of the country in 2015.

The chamber has partnered with the company Citslinc – a business that has organized trips overseas for more than 800 chambers across North America – and is planning a nine-day event that allows visitors to experience China on a guided tour.

The trip takes place April 11 to 19 and includes round-trip airfare, four and five-star hotels, three meals per day, transportation, guides and more.

This year, there are two different trips, the Classic China or the Terra-Cotta Warriors trip.

The classic trip will take visitors through Beijing to see the 2008 Olympic venues, the Great Wall, the Ming Tombs, the Forbidden City and more. The trip will continue to Shanghai and Suzhou, where there will be an afternoon or sightseeing at Tiger Hill. The trip will continue to Hangzhou before returning to Shanghai.

The Terra-Cotta Warriors trip will feature an alternate itinerary for days five, six and seven of the trip. While it will visit many of the same attractions, it will also feature an excursion to Xi’an with a visit to see the terra-cotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China.

The cost for the Classic China trip is $2,499 per person for chamber members and guests and $2,649 for non-members. There is an additional $500 charge for single occupancy. The price includes round-trip international airfare from Vancouver, accommodation in four- and five-star hotels, three meals per day, all in-country transportation, experienced English-speaking tour guides and all tour fees.

For the Terra-Cotta Warriors trip, the price is $2,699 per person for chamber members and guests and $2,849 per person for non-members.
